1995 Sportsman 400 no spark when key is on

Hello all, I have a 1995 Polaris Sportsman 400 that is not getting any spark when the key is turned on and the kill switch is in the run position. If I turn the key off and use the pull start to turn over the engine, I do get a spark. If the key is on and the kill switch is in the off position I get a spark as well. Its only when both switches are in the "run" positions that I do not get a spark. I have tried disconnecting the battery, replaced the ignition coil, checked all wiring from the stator to the voltage regulator and everything looks ok. When the battery is hooked up and I turn the key on, all accessories turn on as expected and the starter will engage and turn the engine over but no spark. I have not tried starting it with the key off as it is in pieces at the moment.
Any ideas/thoughts as to what could be causing this?

Thanks for your help.
