850 Touring Winch Wiring
New guy here.. I have a 2010 850 Touring and the dealer gave me a polaris 2500lb winch with it.. The part number for the winch is 2877302.. It says its for the full size sportsman's from 2005-2009.. Dealer swears its the right winch and he gave me a bracket that makes it fit the machine but outside of that, the directions are useless.. The dealer is very new, small and seems to have no answers for me..
QUESTIONS 1) where is the proper mounting point for the contactor? (looks like it goes directly behind the battery which is located under the passenger seat)
2) the wiring harness that came from the factory that runs from the front to the back of the machine with the blue and yellow wires are about 6" to short to make it to the contactor if it goes behind the battery.. Any idea how they're supposed to reach it, or do I have the contactor in the wrong place?
3) which wire runs from the (+) battery terminal to the contactor? (there are two red wires attached to the positive terminal on the battery, does one go to the contactor?)
4) is there another black (neg) wire tucked away somewhere that runs from the frame to the contactor?..
The directions say 35mins to install.. I'm going on about 12hrs now.. ha!.. Any help is appreciated.. Thanks everyone..

Did you get the contractor mounted? I'm doing a winch on my 2010 550 x2 and have the exact same problems. Let me know how you worked it out!

IF BLUELINE15 is still around, he has some good information. I have the same model and ended up using U bolts to mount the contactor to the frame close to the battery. So far so good.

Any more specific on where you put it? I found holes in the cross member at bottom front of the battery that were the right spacing but not quite large enough to start the self tapping screw. LH side conflicted with what I think is the starter solenoid. RH side high interferes with the belt air intake. Was considering modifying it. Top center or either side hits the seat. Thanks for any help you can offer
