Talking Rookie mistake. Any others folks would like to share?

Riders. I made a newbie mistake tonight when I went out this evening I noticed my speed on my new Trail Boss 330 wasn't easily reaching over the normal GPS tracked speeds I'd reached in the past. I almost slowed to a crawl on a hill. I thought about all the horrible things it could be. Luckily I noticed it was just the brake lock still engaged : ) Also lucky that I was only 1/2 mile into my ride so no permanent damage done. Anyone else want to share a quick laugh?

Not a laugh...
Numerous times I have witnessed new riders putting their foot down to try to hold up the quad in an off-camber situation. Bad. Bad idea. Ankles and knees get ruined that way.
Shift your weight instead or ask for help.

Growing up maybe 12 years old, good ole dad bought a 95 Explorer 300 4x4. I loved it. Well anyways, one day when putting her on the trailer I guess I got a little carried away and drove the front axle right over the front railing on the trailer!! Scared the jesus outta me. I got it down before dad saw LoL.

I jetted the carb on a Honda TRX-400. ( The idle was rough ) And it wouldn't start. Later I found i'd put the needle guide in upside down. Took me 4hrs to figure out what I'd done. Unfortunatley it didn't run much better. I think the motor had been over-reved (landed a jump and downshifted on accident) and the valves hit the piston. Carb backfiring and dying at idle after that. At least it ran good enough that I left it that way.

A buddy of mine had never rode before and bought a 400EX. Well, he hit a rock in the middle of the trail and almost wrecked. I went back to check on him, and he was freaking out saying that his quad was dead, and it didn't have any power. He started checking to see if the battery got knocked loose, and was about to cry cause he messed up his new quad. I walked over, and said "You bumped your killswitch" flipped it on, and it started right up. He was so upset, and the rest of us got a good laugh out of it.
