Breakin in the 2012

Just wanted to be the first to post this thread. Also, I am enjoying the shit out of my new 500ho. Still in the break in period...uhg. Cant wait to go balls out with this thing! Plus , it is a work machine too. Got it to plow snow and pull my log splitter and cart in to the woods for firewood duty. So this needs to be broke in soon, before any major snow.

I just bought a 2012 800 sportsman and man oh man am I stoked about the purchase, I'm still in the break in period as well but I put 18 miles on her over the weekend so I'm getting there. I will say that the extra power and EFI on the 800 was worth the extra bit of cash!

Ooo. The 800 would have been hard to justify with the wife. Plus this is my very first quad...so the 500 ho will do. But Good luck with the 800. I just ordered the 3 headlight mod kit. It just make too much sense for that feature. Also considering that I expect to plow snow at night about half the time. Just works out that way. I reached the 6 hour/ 22 mile mark this weekend
Also, I was having trouble with it stalling after I would let off the throttle. Turns out I had to adjust the cable. The dealer walked me through it over the phone. I was really getting pissed. Glad it was an easy fix.

break in

I just got my 2012 500 HO Sportsman the last week of Aug. I already have over 200 miles on it. Just put a G3 plow on, can't wait to see how it does up here in Maine (if we get snow this year). So far loving it though.

Make sure you either put the battery on a battery tender or on a charger after plowing. Especially at night with the head lights on. If you don't the battery will not last very long.

Break in period drives you crazy, I'm at 8h w/ 60 miles on my 2012 850 touring. I was wondering what all you all were planning on doing for your first service. I've read some people go all out and change all fluids, others go basic. So, what's your plans for keeping these not so inexpensive toys running strong?
