I am looking at truck caps. I have been pricing new ones and some used. I was contaced on another forum about a ARE Z series cap that is about three years old, and by the pictures seems to be in great condition and matches the color of my F150.
He is asking $950 for it.
I would have to drive 3.5 hours to get it.

Any thoughts on the ARE Z series caps.
Is $950 too much, these run about $1700 NEW
I was looking at the Leer XL series for about $1700 new.

I've got a leer xl on my Tundra and love it. Having said that, if I had come across a color matching ARE in almost new condition I would have picked it up for 950...which leave 750$ for some other toy or accessory

I also have the Leer but for that price I would of have jumped on it. ARE makes a nice cap.

i decided not to chance the ride and not to come home with it and waisting the money and time. I bought a new ARE XL. dealers didnt recommend the z series caps, they said that the window will leak.
