My 94 sportsman 400 2 stroke will pick the front end up in both high and low range, but my 01 sportsman 400 4 stroke needs to be in high range and it is alot harder to get the front up.

i do it in high in tough grass (not wet or cut real short) then kneel on the seat then lean way back and hold the throttle down

I like low gear as it's easier on the belt, slowly roll on about 5 mph and apply the front brake some what firm to cause the front to "Dive" then when you come to just about a complete stop throw your weight back and gas it keeping your foot on the rear brake...why just the rear brake? so if it comes over to far you can hit the rear and it will bring the front down fast saving your life!! be very careful as you stated a 700 lb. bike!!
