The Poteau River in July

The Poteau River runs adjacent to our place and while it's not a large river, it runs down from the mountains to our east and it's almost never dry. On the way back out I ran into a skunk, that I was a little worried about seeing out during the day time; luckily, he was scared of the four wheeler and I didn't have to shoot my way out. Please send rain..........

Its dry down here too. No rain at all in July and only .09" in June. All the grass is dead and the trees are turning yellow. There is a ranch near us that I pass daily and I've been watching his stock tank get lower and lower and lower. Yesterday the cows were standing in the bottom of it. No water left. If he doesn't have a deep well on his place I suspect the herd will go to market soon.
