Iowa registration

Does anyone know if you have to have your Quad registered to ride on private property in Iowa?

Why don't you google Iowa atv laws and then you can decide for yourself what you want to do about registration.

Both Minnesota and Wisconsin require a one time registration for ATVs on private property. This is basically so they know how many people have ATVs and if your gets stolen and then shows up again they can trace it back to you. I would check with the state.

I got the quad from a long time friend in Mo. It's a 2000 400 explorer I had two back surgeries last year and need it mainly for dragging deer out of the woods and putting up and taking down tree stands. He doesn't have the title because he never paid the state tax after the sale(I believe that's what he said). Anyway I don't plan on riding it on trails or in any riding parks just using it for hunting. I looked at the DNR rules and they tell you what you can't do but not what you can.. They do have to be registered and tagged to ride on public property. But it doesn't say whether I could ride it without on private property.

As near as I can tell, All Iowa atv's have to be registered unless its use is strictly agricultural.
