Exclamation Kawasaki KLF250 bayou , Idle issues. Need your help.

I am not sure if I over paid or not, it was a 2005 Kawasaki Bayou KLF250 it was $1700 super clean in fact no dirt on it, owner said it was garaged and rode maybe a total of 20 hours but id say less as no dirty nothing on this bike. In fact the tires still had the nipples on them.

The bike was originally purchased in PA and the owner moved to california hoping to use it for hunting, was in his 80s and decided he can no longer ride it.

The bike backfires on deceleration and is a little hard to start, Could this be due to jets for different elevation or just needs some good ole cleaning.

John

Cleaning the carb might do it. Check for proper jet=elevation settings. If after that and no luck it might be a sticking valve or a valve to tight.

You might want to go to a Kawasaki board and ask the question?

Yeah i just figured id toss it out there, i mean backfire issues n jetting/elevation was just a basic question to any engine/carb

but yeah I may do that as well, dropping the bowl and some air n cleaner maybe a good start.

Just wondering if elevation from PA to CA would require re-jetting
