Vermont Flood Hi-Res Gallery - August 2011

Flood Damage West Bridgewater

For those who know, RT2 runs across the top of Massachusetts along the VT border. Running out of NY into North Adams, across RT91 into Green field and then Fitchburg ending at the coast, all the way in Boston. Parts of it will be closed for up to two years...

All I can say is WOW, the power of nature. I hope all forum members are OK...

I hear ya CW, just aweful :-( My prayers go out to all the families out in the cold (so to speak).

We ride Oct. Mt, Bear Mt. and rarely Pitts state forest. Oct. Mt is still closed and may remain so for the rest of the season. I am sure this storm we've been in for last 3 days hasn't helped the flooding much either. Thank God Katia took a right turn otherwise

My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone.
This is similiar to what happened here when the Mississippi River flooded around May of this year. A road that washed out here was just opened last week.

My thoughts go out to those who have suffered from this. The pictures are amazing. Coverage in this part of the country did not show the amount of devastation that there is. Had no idea it was that bad.

Hey guys,

VT was slammed by the storm, thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. I work in Law Enforcement up here right on the river. We lost 3 out of 4 bridges in town, people are displaced now because of condemmed homes and are still without power is some places. To top it off we have people riding up and down the roads looting houses that have been abandoned... I have to say that the way the people in VT have come together is amazing and all in all its inspiring.

Again, thanks for all the thoughts!
