New gas cans.... severely irritating

Damn these new gas cans (containers/plastic) these days suck. I guess I can try some garage sales and see if I can find some old ones.

It's something we are all saddled with. I wll tell you some are better than others!! The ones on my Kolpin cans ROCK! Partly it's due to the shape of the can and it's handles. I have a video on utube using it if you would like to see.

I need to order one of those from Kolpin. For home use I was just trying to go up to Walmart and buy something for the lawnmower.

Alot of people put a small hole in the top of the can on the opposing side of the spout. Then use a golf tee to plug the hole. It might not be the safest thing or legal but thats what people do to make the gas flow faster. I guess we can thank the tree huggers for them messed up style of gas cans. The old style gas cans we used for many years worked fine, now it changes.

That reminds me of a thread I read somewhere. The guy drilled a large enough hole in the top to insert a tire valve stem. He took the valve out and capped it with a metal cap with a O ring seal. When in use loosen or remove the cap. When sealed add and tighten cap.

All the new "safety" gas cans suck. I have had to buy a few and ended just drilling out that damn vent thing out. I did get a "utility can" that I bought at Motorsports International in Auburn, MA. It was $53 but well worth it. It holds 4.5 gal and has a clear flexible hose. It's made by matrix, you might be able to look it up that way.

I did that to one of my 5 gallon plastic "cans". Works great. I absolutely hate those new fangled cans with their "high-tech" safety spouts!
