We do something similar, though I notice your trailer lights are working. Did you mod your wiring? I thought of just wiring my trailer lights to a free standing battery but decided against it. So, we went lightless(on the trailer anyways). I was just curious in how you wired yours.

It is also illegal in his home state of IL, unless on private property. Judging from the roads, it may have been.
