Shipping costs!
Sorry just gotta vent some! So I'm looking at getting a bumper and some ricochet a arm guards for my 850xp. I looked at some small online shops that had decent prices on both, but when I added them to my cart the shipping cost was $51! I mean it's a front bumper & front & back a arm guards! I know these small online places can't compete with the large warehouse dealers w/ free shipping, but $51 to ship? I have used other small shops that charge a flat $10 rate no matter what or how big the order is. Sucks that the shipping costs actually turn me away from supporting these small shops. Sorry for the rant.

I don't think they are making money of shipping. FedEx, UPS and USPS prices seem to be getting higher all the time.
I just paid $70 to ship a $200 fender for my Trail Boss two weeks ago. Worst part is it was still cheaper than going through any local dealers.

With us the shipping cost is the cost. It is based off the zip code and at times like with our Guru bumpers the charge is more than what we charge the customer. We could do like many and and up the price & offer free shipping but then some would pay more than others due to the distance.

I hear ya, and I'm not calling any particular shop out by any means. I just don't understand how shops of the same size can be so far apart on shipping charges? This is where I'm coming from, I ordered a dasa full exhaust system, fci intake, msd blaster fi controller for my sons yfzx from a small shop called tech quad shop. Which is basically run from a guys house, total cost of parts was $923. I'm in Pennsylvania and their from California and the shipping was $10. Oh and Thor your getting my order for a guru bumper in about 10 minutes!

i think you are going to get a good deal on shipping cost. for me to order that + some other little stuff my shipping cost is like $200.00 lol.. (Canada..)

This one is pretty simple.
The shipping costs will usually double or triple once the dimensions of the freight hits a certain size. It usually not so much location that costs so much, its size and weight.
Those items you ordered are not big when compared to a front bumper.
Its not so much the shops (although sometimes it is) but its shipping companies prices (UPS, FedEx) that are getting to be insane.

Do you think that you could drive from Nepa to Thor's shop to pick up a bumper for $51, or Va, Mn, Tx, Ca, or any other state?

The point I was trying to make was that he would spend more money on gas than it would cost him to have it shipped to him.
