anyone have updates on this?

Got this from wiki

"On May 21, 2010, Polaris announced that it was moving its Osceola, Wisconsin parts plant to Mexico. The move is anticipated to save the company $30 million dollars annually, with most of that savings coming from lower wages."

Yes the did that. Not machine production, but parts production.

However, I question the legitimacy of wiki always. Saving 30 million mostly on labor seems very high, I don't beleive the plant was all that large. My understanding was it was to get the US gov out of their pockets.

I'll have to see if I can find that article, and look at their credentials.

Either way is a crappy deal for those who lost their jobs.

One day I hope this issue gets put to bed.

Polaris did not move its Osceola Plant to Mexico. They however build a manufacturing plant there. Osceola is still open, they have about half of the employee's working there as they used to. In order to keep up with demand Polaris kept the Osceola Plant Open.

It worked out like this. ATV's, Mid-Size Rangers, and Snowmobiles are being built in Rosseau,MN. Victory and Ranger XP's are being built in Spirt Lake Iowa.

ATV's and Rangers are being built in Mexico. The units built there are being sold primarily South America. That being said, dealers some states are going to have units built in Mexico shipped into them. Primarily, TX, AZ, CA, etc. This will cut down on shipping costs across the board. The only unit that will ship nation wide out of Mexico is the Ranger EV.

Hope this helps clears everything up.

The reason I buy machines from Polaris is because they are made in USA. I'll buy something else next time if they keep this up.

You're right!!!!! I got my 2011 XP in October and it still had the USA sticker, I'm not sure if any of the 2012 models I saw had them.

I bought a 2012 500 HO. It does not have a made in USA sticker on it. In fact, I can't find a made in anywhere sticker on it ( I have looked everywhere). I've been a die hard Polaris snowmobiler for close to 30 years, and was proud to see that Made in USA sticker on every new sled I purchased.
I never, not even once, took a sled in for repair. Rock solid machines and reliable as they come, which is my reasoning for the quad purchase.
I do hope it was proudly Made in USA.
