Choking!!

I bought my sportsman in the winter. So i figured i had to choke it to get it started in the cold. Well now its hots hell and i still have to choke it? Its so bad i have to feather it for about the length of a city block. I asked dealer and they said nature of the beast, but owning several 4 wheelers in the past a couple honda's a yamaha and others i never had these problems with them so i said ok and left it at that. My buddy just purchased a 02 700 sportsman and it fires up no problem without choking it? Any suggestions??

I've never seen a choke on a carberated atv that does what it should. My sportsman 500 is sometimes hard to start even with it on.
