Question Shock Bushings sportsman

I have recently run into a problem, my rear shocks are still good but the lower bushings attaching the shock to the a-arm have had it and I need new ones
does anyone know of a replacement bushing/sleeve that will fit?

I emailed Polaris and this is there response 1:
Thank you for your email. Polaris has found that it is very rare that the shock absorber bushes fail; as a result it is not economic for this bush to be available as a spare part. I can only suggest that you go to a shock absorber supplier to see if they have a bush available this is the same size. Sorry for the inconvenience

Thanks and regards

Lance Whitelock

RESPONSE 2:
Hi unfortunately the bushes and sleeves cannot be purchased separately and the complete shocker has to be purchased.
In the past with other shockers our dealers have been able to purchase automotive rubbers from the likes of Burson or Repco and this may be your only chance.
If you were to take the shocker and mounting bolts to any of these places I am sure they may help.

Thanks and Regards,

Andrew Raper

So I was hoping that someone on this forum had already encountered this problem and solved it.

anyhelp would be appreciated

regards

I just saw someone post a solution to this problem last week. They purchased a kit from an auto parts store and shimmed it.

That post is located here:

Front shock play

Good luck!

I took my shock to a local machine shop and he made me new bushings. They work great and cost nine dollars each.

Well I have removed my rear shock to get to the lower bushing, lets say there is nothing left of the plastic feeling bushing except the inner metal tube. so I measured the ring on the shock where the bushing goes it measures 22mm inside diameter the metal tube has dimensions of 16mm outside diameter and an inside diameter of 11mm

So I went to the www.nolathane.com.au and used there bush size search link on the left hand side of the page to find something similar.

what I found was a couple of parts that fit part numbers 45144, (suits ford falcon XK XL XM OR XP MODELS for the front double control arm.) dimensions [23.5 mmOD 16 mmID 26 mmL 3 mmFLANGE

the other part # 47265 suits Nissan commercial patrol g60 [dimensions of bush 22.5 mmOD 16 mmID 32.8 mmL 4.8 mmFLANGE

So even though they are not perfect fits I think they could be made to fit easly enough
I will see if i can buy some of them tomorrow. and see if they fit.

I will also check the upper bushing on the shock aswell.
