shocks or springs

I just bought 2000 500 sportsman.They had a plow on it. I have taken the plow off It seems to sit low on the front.If ilift the front up it falls back down is this the shocks or the springs thanks

with a machine that old it couldn't hurt to replace both. HD springs will make a huge difference though...

The sagging would be from the springs. Worn shocks will hurt the handling but shouldn't cause it to sag.

From what ive read here, the weight of the plow tends to make the stock springs sag from the extra weight. So replacing the springs would be a good idea.

I would have to say the springs are the problem, the weight alone makes them sag after a while.ALSO welcome to the forum.

+1 replace them with HD springs and you wont believe how much better it will handle, and it will sit with alot more ground clearance.
