I have heard the same about the 09s. You might try asking this on the High Lifter site under Polaris. Thats where alot of mudders w/lifts hang out.

Just dont waste your time calling Highlifter for any kind of customer support..
I bought the 2 inch lift for my 2002, seems like a good quality lift the instuctions they sent were not all that great, did some digging after no help calling them and found a diagram for another kit they sold with better instructions. Oh and be careful not to pull the cv out of the hub, its a pain getting it back together right...

What I would do is go with the highlifter lift and put a set of gorilla axles because they can
handle anything I am told. Gorrila also makes a lift. I would also look at rubberdown customs. If you want to do an all out mudder I would also upgrade to highlifters heavy duty spring for the 850. Then would look at hot seat for exhaust and dalton for clutching. Just my 2 cents

We run the SuperATV lifts. I have one on our 800 touring and on both of our 500s. Lifetime warranty on the parts and the price is right. Have had the lifts on the 500s for over a year without issue, having ridden a good number of times at Busco Beach in NC, Rockhouse in WV, and some of the smaller parks here in NC. No complaints on these lift kits; installation was easy and each machine took about two hours.
Talking price, with Gorilla Stage 1 and the HL kits, they are way, way overpriced (my opinion). Additionally, the Gorilla Stage 1 only lifts the front; more of a leveler than a true lift kit since it does not raise the rear.
Have heard good things about the RDC lifts, but have no experience with them.

850 xp 3 inch lift and modifications
I put the 3 inch highlifter kit on my 2009 850 xp along with HD highlifter springs. I changed wheel size to 28 mudlite tires with 14 inch motosport black rims. I also put a clutch kit from what i read on this site i placed primary and secodary springs with new weights. I also added a HMF xl swamp series exhaust with fuel optimizer. I finished it off with fender extenders, 1 1/2 inch wheel spacers, and power mad hand gaurds with mirrors. I am sure that I will need gorilla rear axles @ somepoint. It rides and handles awesome. I am not a big mud rider. I wanted a monster all terrain vehicle and I think i accomplished it. I am not mechanical and i completed all of this myself in a few evenings after work.

Give Paul a call at Rubberdown Customs. Not only does he ride an '09, but he has one of his lifts on it! He'll hook you up, I know it!!
