Hello All,
the bike has 16 hours and 91 miles on it, brought it to local dealer to check on what sounds like a metal on metal screetching coming from the front, I took off the front wheeles and inspected the front brake assembly and at first glance i noticed how tight the pads looked against the rotars?? The dealer called and I got the bike back in 3 hours. The mechanic told me that dirt got between the pad and rotar creating friction, No visable damage but they said they cleaned them up best possible but the screatching noise is still there!!! They said new brakes will do the same thing?? Design flaw? Owner neglect? ( I really try to take really god care of her! Garage kept) Vambulzzed at dealer? Anyone have a similar problem? Thanks!!

Sometimes the brakes squeak for a while. Especially with new pads. I replaced my rear pads several months ago and they still squeak.

I have one side on my 700 that will occasionally " hang up" causing an annoying squeal. It will stop if I cycle the lever. But strange I have taken everything apart and cannot find a problem. It's infrequent so I live with it. In my case I'm now thinking something gets in there and then gets back out. Which is why I never find anything.

Put some time on it, maybe even slightly pulling the lever to heat the brakes and " wear them in " a bit faster. Hopefully that's all it is. I understand annoying noises, they can make a conscientious man nuts!!

If you are able to, try taking the pads out and roughening them up a little. There might be a glaze on the pads that is causing them to squeal. Sanding the pads with a rough grit sand paper might help.
