2007 sportsman brake noise

I just bought my first fourwheeler so I dont know what is normal. When I press the rear brakes it slows but it makes a clunking noise. Also when I pull the hand break real hard it still makes the clunk from the rear. no noise from the front brakes. Is this normal or are the brakes worn out.

i bought my 2007 sportsmen brand new and it has made kind of a shifting sound when you slow, it has Active Descent Control and it is designed to help slow you going down hills. I think it is normal but if your real concerned go to a loacl dealer and see if they think it is normal.

Why not just pull the wheel off and look at it? It should NOT make a "clunking" noise when you apply brakes....something needs fixed!!

It sounds like it is coming from the drive shaft.
