cv joint/ axle length/ liftkits/ HELP !
just installed 1.5" lift on my 04 sportsman 600, worked good first run out, but ended up pulling a cv joint apart in front wheel, is this common with lift kits cause the suspension is reaching further, do I need longer axle shafts or lengthen mine ? The cv joint is still in the boot didn't even rip the boot that's what makes me think length issues ? Please help ! Thanx

The length of the axle should be good for a 1.5" lift. I've been using stock axles with a RDC 2" lift for almost a year now and no problems.
One thing to look at would be the c-clip on the axle As maybe it has become weak over the years.
Or possibly just a broken joint in the boot.

Ok thanx but it pulled the 3balls out with the axle as a unit, so the clip held, still thinkn length issues, what if I cut the axles and weld a tube over the joint with an inch extra length ?

What lift kit are you using?
Did you check the cage that the balls sit inside?
