2002 Sportsman 2" coil spring spacer/strut plug
My front end is sagging down. I wanted to put a 2" coil spring spacer between the strut housing and the spring and add a 1.5" strut plug in the bottom of the strut housing. When I took the shocks out of the strut housing they where already 1.25" from the bottom of the strut housing.
Here's the question: Is the shock supposed to go all the way to the bottom of the strut housing or not? The manual just says to scribe a line before disassembly (which I did). But if I put a 1.5" plug is will only raise the strut a 1/4in. from where it was at originally.
My goal is to raise up the front end to be level with the rear. I'm not looking to run bigger tires, but I do have a winch on the front which is causing the sag.
Thanks for you help in advance!

My personal opinion is do it once and do it right... I suggest you buy HD springs and or buy a "lift" kit.

Do the stock HD spring have a harsh ride? My 2005 front endis a little soft and sags slightly (I think because of the additional weight of a winch monted on the front).
