Adjusting rear springs, Any adverse effects?
Besides a stiffer ride and everything, will the higher setting of the rear sprins cause any adverse effects? Like less suspension travel? tires not staying in touch with ground as much over ruff terrain (articulation)?

How's it going Kool? All the adjust does is preload the springs. It does not affect the travel of the suspenion. I adjusted mine up 2 notches when installing a-arm guards & i like the ride better now! Make sure you jack it up &
remove tires when adjusting, makes it easier to turn adjuster ring!!!
Hope this helps!!!

Cool stuff, just some other sites said that jacking up the rear would effect suspension travel and them being so stiff would not be in contact with the ground as well going over ruff terrain then they would if they were at their softest.

For conversation sake, I would think jacking up the suspension would
make it have less travel. Simply for the reason it now takes a greater
force to compress the spring. Of course this all depends on the riders
weight to setting ratio.
Regarding ground contact, with the sportsman being independent
suspension, set at a higher ratio it would force each wheel into the ground
so to say on uneven terrain. Does this make sense in a way?

Don't over analyze this!!!! It's a simple adjustment. If it feels soft or wallows or bottoms out make it stiffer.
Hows this...If the springs are sagging and you stiffen them you will a tually raise the machine. By raising the machine you will also actually be gaining suspension travel that was lost by the sagging springs....
Conserning ground contact with a stiff vs solt suspentio in a ATV... In a back and white world I'm certaintherr will be a difference. Here in reality I gaurenty you will not see, feel or otherwise know it exists.
As I said it's a simple adjustment. Just do it. If you don't like it you can always return it to it's original setting....
