Brake life on an 850 touring

Hey everyone,

I checked my brakes on my touring the other night and they're close to needing to be replaced. what kind of life are you guys getting out of brakes? i've got a little more than 1300 miles on mine and i'm not an aggressive driver. my ranger has almost 3000 miles on it and the brakes look fine.

Polaris cheaped out on the brakes in the XP's, When I had my 2009 I had to replace them at around 1200 miles, Wifey is on track to get about 1500 out of hers.

Seems like way too many "wear" parts on these machines. I dropped my 2011 Touring (353 miles on it) off at the dealer this morning for oil in the airbox and mentioned a few other "concerns" to them hoping to pick it back up Friday to ride this weekend. They called me a few hours later and said Fridays not going to happen as they have to order a few parts...... Rear bearings and bushings are shot already, should all be covered under the standard warranty since it's within the first 6 months. However it's still a little irritating. Parts should be in Monday or Tuesday and they'll have it back to me. I'm at least glad I have a good dealer to work with.

I agree Fishy. I've had the ours in for the oil in the airbox, a rear axle replaced, and now i see my strearing stem has some play in it and the rear bearing seem bad. So back it will go again to the dealer after my next ride.

So far after every ride it has to be fixed for something. I hope this is not a trend that continues.

have 57 hours on mine all winter riding in the snow and i rarley use my brakes & they are just about worn out.i see a few guys say the ebc severe duty pads are better not sure how much longer they last though.those a-arm bushings are crap i am getting new ones made.they are very loose fit the only thing that is tight is the lip at the end witch wears out in a hurry

my front brake pads wore out at 10 hrs..160 kms and the front right so bad it "damaged" the rotor....so said the dealer....2 weeks waiting for parts and install...no explanation as to why...just a bill....I'm still waiting 2 1/2 weeks for pure Polaris hand guards to come in...these guys operate on "Island time"
