A-Arm Protector?

I am thinking of putting some 'Super ATV' A-Arms on my Sportsman 700. I want to put 28" tires on and need to clear the fenders, this product is supposed to allow you to install up to 30" tires.

The a-arms do not come with the protective plastic shield for the CV. Has anyone heard of any kind of aftermarket product that could be used or do you just drill and tap new screw holes and use the stock piece?

I know some will say to just lift it, etc. but unfortunately I already bought the tires used and thought they would fit! It seems the arms would be an easier route to go. If I lift I only want to put the shock mount exteneder style lift on there. The lift is around $50 but changes the angle on the CV, the arms are $125 but only move it forward 2", still changes it but in a different direction I suppose.

Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.
