positive camber after lift?!
i installed a 2" lift kit to clear the 27" Mud Lite XTR's on my '03 Sportsman 500HO and now the front wheels have a positive camber (out just a little at the top). This makes steering a fight! any suggestions or solutions appreciated. At this point I am just about ready to take the lift back off and let the tires rub!

Try softening the shocks and check your toe. Camber shouldn't have a big negative in steering. Handling YES, steering not so much.
The lifts I have seen shouldn't change amber at all....

Who makes the lift? A 2" lift should not cause enough of a difference to cause any issues.

The lift is made by many different companies but all look the same. It is the one that adds a spacer on top of the front strut, which rotates the lower a arm down and thus in, causing the change in camber. No upper a arm on front but the top of the strut attaches to the same point so the geometry is changed. With weight on the bike (i.e. a rider) the front wheels are closer to vertical.

Ok, possibility the change in geometry also changed the toe...because the spindles are actually a little further from the steering stem... I may be toed out just a little and that would cause difficulty in steering. Right? I need to look at it closer.

Correct, suspension travels in a arch, so where it sits static is what you set it at. It most likely changed.
I had to do the same thing when I installed HD front springs. Mine was toed out 1/4". Not good... I adjusted to 1/16Th in.

The maintenance manual for my 2001 500HO says the front wheels should be toed out. Put a mark at the center back of each tire and take a measurement between marks. Rotate until marks are at the front of each tire and the measurement should be 1/8-1/4 inch more.

I have a 2009 Sportsman 500HO.It has 3400 miles.Tread on both front tires is worn down to
carcass of tire body. Some wear remaining on centre lugs.Running 5 psi. Original factory tires.Rear tires are good for another 2000 miles.Right front has more wear.More negative camber evident on right front. Can the camber be adjusted ?
A friend's Arctic Cat uses upper and lower control arms with no camber. He says it is difficult to
turn on paved roads on his machine. His tires show little wear.
Thanks, Jim

You used camber kits for your wheel alignment? I suggest that you just lift it back if you are having problem steering.
