1996 polaris Trail Blazer brakes

The machine has no brakes so I thought I would just pick pads up and put them on LOLOLOL Gusses I was wrong got the rear off and there is pad left well got then so change them any way well no matter what I try I can not get the pistion backed off enouth to get the new pad over the rotor. I have tried every thing C-clamp big channel locks and even losend up the brake line.

Does any one have any ideals?

There's a screw/bolt at the rear caliper used to adjust the footbrake. Back off on it and this will allow the piston to retract more.

If it's not the adjustmnt screw I can only think of two possibilities. Wrong pads or a corrosion buildup on the piston. The clearance between piston and caliper is pretty tight.

I belive the pad are right I got them from my dealer and every thing looks the same shape and the pin holes line up and all pluse I looked them up on Pure Polaris parts and came up with the same number. Now are you thinking build up on the out side of the piston or in side where the piston slide into the caliber houseing. I'll call my dealer today and see if they offer and caliber rebuild kit for it

I'm thinking buildup on the part of the piston that sits out of the caliper. You might be able to remove the piston and clean it up. Pistons and seal kits can get expensive. When you remove the piston you can look in the bore but I doubt anything could have gotten in there. If the piston is smooth after you clean it up you could reuse it. Seals are up to you but they might be fine.
