Smile Help with rear susp

My rear shocks are shot. I need to remove coil spng from the old and put on the new. What type sprng compressor do I need to use /buy?

Also, I need to replace the bushings in the rear upper A-arm? How do I get the bolts out? There must be a trick. It seems there is not enough room between the inner CV and the bolt for the bolt to slide out. Must I disassemble and remove the entire A-arm? Somebody break it down real simple for me. thanks.

Just go and rent a strut tool from orileys. Easier and safer than a ratchet strap.

Thanks for your input. There was a trick. I did have to remove the A-arm before I could get the upper / front bolt out. Had to drop the bracket that holds the upper /front A-arm bush. Once the A-arm was off, no prob. Now, to get the springs off. Yeah, I saw that vid with the ratchet straps. I'd rather do it another way. I found a 3 pc suppressor for $50. Holding off till my mechanic gives it a try. If he cant get'em off, then I'll get the tool.

I tried two different tools from Autozone...neither would properly fit the springs as they were made for larger car springs. I ended up dropping the shocks and new springs off at the local powersports shop...they had them done an hour or so later.

I just removed mine today using a strut compression tool. My spring compressors where far too large.

Let me remove ALL DOUBT about doing this with out a compression tool. The rear springs are a FULL 4" shorter when in the shock.
