polaris sportsman 500 front shocks

I have a 2007 sportsman 500 X2 that I just replaced the front bearings, tie rod ends, ball joints and pads all the way around. I noticed that the front left shock was busted and went to Polaris to see what new ones cost and found they are pretty proud of those at $ 119.00 a piece not including the spring. I was wondering if I should go ahead and replace both sides so the ride is equal and the springs? I was also wondering if there is a after market that is better and cheaper? I cannot find them if there is. Any help would be appericated.
