Welcome to the forum! Maybe you need a-arm guards. What type of riding do you do?

Welcome!

Are you having a problem on the front or rear?

Do you have a lift on the bike?

I've had problems all summer with aftermarket boots. Finally used OEM boots and hopefully I have it under control.

Actually I dont think it's getting caught on any foreign matter (rocks, sticks.etc.) All high desert riding, exploring old mining towns in Northern Nevada. It is the right rear outboard and all three replacements have been OEM. Am now thinking about switching to Moose boots, No lift on the bike, all stock. Wondering if maybe there is an issuse with the CV that the dealer is over looking? Maybe the retaining clip that holds the shaft in place or something?

Thank you for the quick responses.

Where is the boot ripping? If it's somewhere around where it goes thru the bearing carrier, it could be the clamp is rubbing and cutting the boot. Which may lead you to check the wheel bearing.

I agree if you dont think anything is hitting it there is something inside causing the damage.

I would do the job yourself looking for burrs or paying perticular attention for anything that could damage the boot.

It could even be damaged during assembly. Causing premature failire.
