Sportsman 450 with squeaky brakes
I have 2 sportsman 450’s I Ordered the severe duty sintered metal brake pads from race driven for both quads. we rode them a mile or so and the pads started squeaking on both quads. They squeak almost all the time. any one have any idea what I can do to make them quite. if we run through water they will stop for a while then start squeaking again. I have sent 2 emails to race driven about it and never heard from them they don’t seem to care so that’s the last time I will order any thing from them.
Would I be better off to pay the higher price and buy Polaris OEM pads?
Thanks for any help I can get.

This is pretty much the norm for all ATVs in my area. We have a lot of sand in our dirt, so anytime the atv gets in water, it's exposed to sandy water. Once you get into the water is puts a damper on the noise, only for it to return later. Just 1 grain, which is bearly visable to the eye, can cause all that loud noise when it gets on the break pad's surface. I've tried so many times to fix mine, with out success. This haunts most all ATV brands and models. It's a surprise nobody has come up with a real good solution. Just wanted to give in my input, maybe someone else here has had some success.

I usuaaly give the back sides of the pads a coat of spray paint, some people when installing pads will put a thin layer of silicone on the back also. Seems to help
Try ebc pads next time............still made in U.S.A.

You spray the actual pad? Never heard of this. Any cheap spray paint work? What's the theory behind it?
