Want HD front springs, which ones?

EPI has HD front springs for my 2002 Sportsman 500 H.O., but I need help deciding which ones would be best, the 101 or 140 rate. I have dual tube front bumper, 2000lb winch, and 5' Cycle Country plow.
Thanks

Howdy neighbor!

To my mind a 140# spring up front seems like an awful lot... I dont think the REAR of my HD springs is even that much...

I have EPI HD springs up front and HIGH LIFTERS HD springs out back.

I'm a bigger guy at 72" and 230# and I also plow with my machine. So I have a winch up front as well. I also have a front mounted hitch as I have alot of trailers here and use the machine to shuttle them around the lot.
Before the HD springs, the front seemed "mushy" and plowed into corners if you pushed it at all! When plowing it was pitiful and squatted WAY down with the plow up.
The back would dive when you hit the gas and wallow with any hint of agressive riding. With a second person on, the rear tires would hit the fenders in whoops.

Now its firm and positive. The front dosen't dip or plow at all. When plowing the front drops about what you would expect, no where near the stops as it did before! Out back its firm without jaring your teeth out of your head. Very nice positive feeling when riding agressively. Stab the throttle and kick out the back and she will come right around. Would not do that before!

Overall I would say its my favorite "mod" I have done next to the "rev light/ no more yellow button pushing" mod.

Thanks for the info, that's what I was looking for. I'm 6'2" and 170, so the lighter of the EPI springs should be more than enough. I never have any problem kicking the back end loose so I'll probably just upgrade the fronts for now.
Thanks again

By the way, what's the best method for changing them out?

Fronts are cake. I did not need the compressor at all.

Rears totally different. These need to bve compressed allot and spring compressors are most defineately required!

Try a search, I created posts on both topics...

I was looking at Highlifter spring kits, and they have a set for both front and rear, with tool, for $230, IIRC. I'm guessing the tool is for compressing them for install?

Ok, these are the ones I'm looking at:
EPI: Black Suspension Spring - Sold Each

Only thing I'm wondering is if they're actually for the front as they don't specifically say...hopefully they're prompt with email responses...

Cross referenced the part numbers and figured out which ones were which, ended up buying them from Chrome Addiction. Got a pretty good deal
