X2 harsh ride!!!
Anyone know what springs/shocks I can upgrade to soften my rear suspension? It rides very rough even with 2 onboard. Preload adjusters are on the softest setting and all suspension bolts have been loosened and retorqued. Dont know what to do? Do I need to get another machine/brand to get a good ride? I had a 2007 sportsman prior and its ride was great I got this one to fill our 2UP needs. Its a 2006 sportsman X2 500.
PLEASE HELP all I can find are linkes to stronger srings?

I have never heard of anyone complaining about the ride quality of a sportsman before. What year/model is it? Maybe a previous owner added stiffer springs and you need to get some stockers? Maybe your shocks are bad?

Dont think springs have been changed on it color matches perfectly. Shocks are not leaking oil. Ride is not rough because it bottoms, ride is rough because it doesnt move very much even with me 215lbs and wife 140lbs on it. Only time I had a good ride on it was with the hind quarters of a moose in the box with #2 setting on springs. I think I just need softer springs, Ive heard use RZR springs ive heard use 08 and newer X2 springs but dont want to just buy without knowing spring rates for these and stock.

Yeah its stiffer to haul 2 person or 400 lbs in the bed.
You could buy some softer springs for the rear but you'd lose the weight carring capacity.
Running low air pressure in the rear tires helps alot never ran over 5psi in mine usually 3-4 psi.
Would the Touring rear springs be softer???

Welcome to the forum!! This is the first thread I've seen about them being too stiff. Agree with Lost Cause that they may be after market springs, sounds like they are HD springs.
Hopefully some 2up owners will tell you there opinion!!!!!!!!

My X2, the front was too soft and the rear too stiff.
I installed SP 800 springs on the front to stiffen it up some.
I didn't really research the rear but SP 800 rear springs/shocks are differant.
My X2 did ride a lot stiffer than a regular Sportsman.

The front seems ok for now only 1400 miles on it but rear is too stiff. Would really like other springs for it, possibly touring? But dont want to just buy them to find they are the same spring? Does anyone know the wire diameter on a HD spring vs stock rear could I check this way to see what mine are for sure? Thanks a bunch for any info dealers here dont want to be bothered with this kind of thing they just want to sell big dollar machines.

I don't know for sure, but I would imagine that the touring springs would be softer and the regular sportsman 1up would be even softer. Maybe you could find some used one's for cheap. I have the stockers off my 800 that have less than 5 hours on them but I don't know about shipping to canada.

Touring would probably work I will bug the dealer tomorrow, If I knew the spring rate on mine all I would need is the spring rate on aftermarket and dimensions which should be easy enough to get.
