Rear Lower A Arm
The large bolt that goes through the rear lower A that goes into carrier bearing keeps backing out and once snapped. I was able to repair but new bolt keeps doing same thing. Any suggestions????

Have you tried using thread locker? Permatex makes it in blue or red. Blue is medium strength and red is high strength. It's a liquid and only takes a couple drops. I recomend the blue. The part# is 24200. You can get it at most any parts store.

I forgot. Make sure threads are good. Also before applying loctite make sure bolt is clean.

I have tried the blue, guess I'll move onto the red. I'm worried the the female threads are shot.

Might be. If they are a helicoil kit might be what has to be done. They cost about $35 and up.

Helicoil kit is a rethread kit. You will use the drill bit size suggested on the package. Drill the hole larger. Make sure to drill straight. Tap the threads with the tap provided in the kit. Put some grease on the tap to help prevent metal shavings from getting everywhere. Back out occasionally and clean ap and put more grease on it. Then make sure hole is clean and free of debris using air or brake cleaner(starting fluid will also work). Then using the thread insert screw it into the threaded hole using the plastic insert tool provided in the kit. Use threadlocker on the insert. Then you are done.
You will need to determine the thread diameter and thread pitch and get that helicoil kit. You can buy the kits and most any parts store. For sure Carquest and NAPA.

Glad to help you out. That's a good price on a thread kit. Keep all the taps and t handle insert tool for later. If you ever need the thread inserts they are sold seperatly. Remember while drilling and tapping hold them straight.
