Just a quick thing here guys. Oil based products are murder on rubber!!! I use spray graphite, plus the other stuff attracts dirt and grime. That is a definate cure for a"whiney"noise! My honey says that's why she has her own quad!!!!! Remember, grease is cheap, don't be afraid to use alot!!!

Red face

I used a product called Fluid Film water does not penetrate this stuff and it is far better than WD40 will ever be. Worked like a charm.

Fluid Film is the best stuff I have ever used. Just difficult to find, usually order it by the case because it isn't sold at retailers.

My buddy also just got a 2012 Sportsman 400 H.O. and it also makes that squeaking noise. Annoying as hell when I'm behind him, at first I thought something was wrong with my machine lol. I think its just from the suspension breaking in or something, but as others have said keep an eye on it and make sure everythings greased before you go out

I use a can of silicone spray. Got it at Home Depot. Drys but leaves a film of silicone. Its cured all kinds of noises.

Hmmm...grease is not an oil based product? I guess not if its synthetic. Problem is its hard to get grease on a bushing that has no zerk fitting without disassembling the control arms. Also the bushings are not rubber. They are plastic. Squirt a little WD on 'em and go riding.

They make up for that on the XP's. My 850 has 19 zerks on it.

Funny, I was reading this older post and see that "Fluid Film" comes highly recommended. So I did a google search to see how much this stuff costs and the availability of getting some. Well, I saw a picture of it and I said to myself "I have a can of that stuff in my work truck".

I was doing some electrical work on a used machine at a paint manufacturer and my boss had to go to the place where they had bought this used piece of equipment from. He came back to me with a can of the Fluid Film and said they bottle it at the place he went to and the guy that gave it to him said "It's like WD40 on steroids". So from what I am reading this stuff is really good. What are the odds of that happening? Sweet! Apparently Fluid Film is made here in California!
