02 Trailblazer 250.
Hello all! First I want to say that I am very excited to be on this forum now. It appears that there are a ton of members and a lot of very good insight!
Now onto my question. I have a 2002 Trailblazer 250. I need to beef up the rear shock. Any ideas where I can get a aftermarket replacement? It appears to be hard to find.
Thanks in advance for the help.
Ken

I am in the same boat here. Except the rear shock on my 2001 trailblazer is fine, it is the 2006 trailblazer that needs a new shock and spring. I will start my own thread later if we don't get any response on this one, since the 2002 is short travel shock, and the 2006 has a long travel rear shock.
I believe you can get the shock for around $80 from polaris. Even though your shock does not appear to be in the parts diagrams, I think one of the mods here works at polaris, and he could give you a list of shocks that will fit it.
What I need input on is, can I buy the factory shock from polaris for the 2006 trailblazer (pn 7042319), and then upgrade the spring on it to one from a 2006 scrambler? The scrambler has shows 2 part numbers for the fox rear shock, one that is 280 lb/in 7041864-385 and one that is 180 lb/in 7041865-385..
Anybody know if the free-length on the 2006 scrambler spring is the same as on the trailblazer?

I figured out what to do.
Ken, did you ever get an answer?
I ordered new shocks on ebay for my 2006 trailblazer and 2000 325.
Just got them in today. the 7041960 that your 2002 calls for is the same that my 325 called for.
the 2006 takes a 7042319. It is about 3.5-4 inches longer overall, and has approx 1.5" more travel. (which means it will sit up slightly higher). The spring distance (top of the shock to the adjuster) is exactly the same.
I found in my 2000 325 book that an optional 'firm' spring for the rear is 7041303-067. I believe -067 is just a color. This spring is 250 lb/in vs the stock 175 lb/in.
Therefore, I will most likely be buying another long travel (7042319) shock, as well as these heavy duty rear springs to build up both of the rear shocks with. Spring is about $50. Shock new on ebay is 80-100$. So it will still cost $150 to do this.
See attached too, it has the part numbers for the 'firm' front springs. About 40-$50 each.
Cheers
