stock springs bigger than epi???
i got a set of epi hd springs for my recently accuired 97 sportsman 500.. is it possable that mine already had upgraded springs becasue they are taller than the new ones? also it needs struts as you can tell by the completly compressed one behind the vise. do new struts come with all of the adjustble collars etc?

I don't think the height is the only factor in a spring. Lots of metallurgy in there. And it looks like you have 2 more coils in the new spring than the old. I'll bet the compression ratio (lbs. required to compress 1in.) is a bit stiffer on the new spring.

If I remember correctly, my stock Polaris springs looked taller than my Polaris HDs. I thought it odd, but the HDs seemed thicker metal and are definitely stiffer.

Even if the old were HD, the fact that you thought they might need upgraded means they were probably worn out anyway. I just put the EPI HD on last week and found a huge difference. I bet you will too.

I'm pretty sure the shock portion has to be bought separately. I've never seen them offered with the springs or adjusters. I had to buy new ones and bought a set of gas shocks off ebay. Lots cheaper than the strictly hydraulic ones from the dealer.
