Sugar in gas tank ?

Well Someone has put sugar in my gas tank. I have a Polaris Ranger had about 100hrs on it . A Polaris dealer about 3 months ago worked on it and got it running good. They soaked and cleaned the carburetor, changed all fuel lines, fuel pump and flushed the tank. After I got it out the shop I ran it hard for a few weeks at my deer lease. Well I let it set for about 2 weeks and now it is back to running bad. it dies out, hard starts and backfires also smokes alil. Before I bring it back to Polaris and spend more $$$$. I was wondering if anyone has had this happen, or know the affect it can have on a engine? Also do yall think this is going to be a on going poblem? Just trying to get a few opions.

sugar doesn't dissolve in gasoline so IF it made it past filters it would scratch cylinders. Oldest way to ruin an engine for someone. Not nice of course. Luck.

Other then a complete and thorough flush / cleaning (or replacement) of the fuel system components again and your issues will likely continue. Get it running good and bail on it.... sell it, or trade it at another dealer!

Did they pull the tank and flush/clean it... or just suck it out?

But I'd personally start with the fuel filter first....

Good Luck!!!

And this fixes his problem how??? I understand the feeling, but this isn't answering the OP's question at all. I'm sure he already had those thoughts three months ago, when it first happened.

Sugar doesn't dissolve in gasoline. If somebody did put it in your tank, it's still in there or clogging your fuel filter. If you're still having engine problems I'd look for another cause.

Ha - fool me once - shame on you - fool me twice - shame on me. Find the dude that is causing the problem and put an end to it.

are you sure someone put sugar in there, or is it just acting up after sitting for a while?

It could just be bad gas.
