you need a Volt meter, even a cheap harbor freight one will work for stuff like this. and check the voltage should be like 12.6 or 2.8 at least on a good battery.
Have you put it on a battery charger and see what happens.
Also when running charging system should put out 13.6 - 14.2 volts.

Ok I know it's been awhile but I did fix my problem with the starter just clicking. I had replaced the battery with a battery with more cold cranking amps. Had it in for just a Little over 2months an no problems.
