blazer idle

what do i adjust the idle to. and once i find this spec how do i know what the rpm is if i dont have a tachometer?

put a white dot on the crank and count how many times it goes around in a minute.

you can get it pretty close by sound ,or slow enough where it doesn't grind excessively when put it into gear but yet fast enough where it doesn't die in neutral either
