Question Probably a dumb question..

When I first fire up my 700, there is a wrench blinking on the dash for a few minutes then the icon shuts off, and never comes back on. what does this mean?

Not sure on yours, but on my '11 850xp the wrench means it's time to do a oil/fluid change.

it's a service reminder, reminding you to do oil changes, it can be reset in diagnostics or shut off if you just want to keep track by yourself.

Smile Service interval time

vulcan700,Mike here. The wrench icon is a RESETABLE service interval.I reset mine everytime I change the oil and filter and do a complete service check of all fluids and grease it. You can change it to ever how many hours you prefer. It is set at the factory at 50 hours. If after say 50 hours you change the oil and filter and check everything and all is ok you reset it to say 150 hours to do it again at 150 hours you set it to 150 hours. When it has run OR the key has been left on for a total of 150 hours the wrench icon will apear again telling you it's time to do a service again. The icon will remain OFF till it reaches 150 hours and so on.Each time you reset it ,you run the hours up to your next reset interval.Hopes this helps.Mike

Hold your over ride button. Turn the key on while holding the button (dont start it just turn it) Hold until you get to diagnostics on your pod display. Scroll to maint. set your reminder for increments of 50 hours or just shut it off. I just shut mine off. I do checkups often. Keeping an eye on your oil, tranny fluid, diffs front/rear coolant, and airfilter are easy to do. That wrench can get annoying so i just shut mine off all together.
