rzr 800 won't start
there are 2 wires going to the starter solenoid are both of the wires to be hot or is one a ground
|

The battery side will always be hot, the starter side will be hot when you turn the key. Think of the solenoid as a simple switch. All its doing is allowing the positive connection of the battery flow through it and on to the starter. When you let go of the key, it kills the power so the starter stops turning over.

i mean the 2 small wires. not the battery cable and the starter wire

If they are hot wires they might not be hot until the key is in the start position. You might could look at a parts diagram at babbittsonline and see. I would look but you didn't state the year model.
