Installing synthetic winch line
So after installing the Guru brush guard on my Sportsman, I need synthetic line for my winch/plow set up.
I ordered this set up off ebay...
eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices
Comes with the fairlead and abrasion guard and thimble. I remember reading posts (that of course I can't find now) about how people attach the synthetic line to their drum but can't find them. If anyone has ever unspooled a Polaris winch, you know about the hole and little metal drum. Not sure if you use that set up with synthetic, but I remember reading something about duct tape.
I also have the winch saver from Thor. It has metal that is removable on each opening of the rubber, and I remember reading you should pull these out with synthetic line. Seems like you should leave the one against the hook in to stop it from pulling through the rubber, and just remove the one that contacts the winch.
Attached a pic of it...
