Only issue with my Guru bumper.

I recently installed a Guru bumper on my 2006 Polaris 800. No doubt in my mind this is the best bumper on the market, except this one problem. My issue is that my cable from my winch is going to rub the hell out of one of the crossmembers of the bumper. I can only imagine that I will rub a hole through the tube after a couple of good snow storms when I'm using my plow. The fairlead is "sunk" in to far with the new bumper and the cable doesn't clear. Trying to figure out a way to extend my fairlead about an inch in hopes that this will be enough to clear the bar. I also thought about finally buying a synthetic rope, thinking it wouldn't rub as bad, but that still will not solve the problem I have.

If you mean with plowing then just add a arm on the hook connection on the push tub.

If you are talking about welding a hook on the back of my plow, I would rather not have to do that. I was hoping to find a different solution if you got any??

Just drill a hole closer to the blade and add a eye hook.

WOW....that sucks! I can't really help you in terms of showing you how to fabricate something. But I have a couple of ideas....as for extending the fairlead...you are going to create stress on it if you plan on keeping the extension on during the summer months and getting stuck...could cause you to break the cable....but just for plowing it would work with some aluminum plate cut to shape of the mounts and getting longer bolts for the fairlead.

AS for the plow mod...yea I wouldnt drill mine because of plowing dirt and gravel and so forth...but If you could get some 1/4" thick steel plate lets say 4" wide and 3' overall in length, cut it down the allow for proper lifting and somehow bolt it into the existing lift hole for easy removal if need be.

Try the fairlead spacer first...gonna have to see about getting it made at a machine shop unless you hae access to the tools. Shouldn't be more than 30 bucks in my opinion.

I hope this helps....

Matt
