hmm.. not sure about which is the correct way..
but EVERY.. thumb warmer is on the thumb side that i have seen... maybe they are just weaker than snowmobiles ?
i guess its more efficient to keep the warm side on the thumb but.. who knows maybe the backside makes it more comfortable in the summer when its not in use?
like i said. dont have hand/thumb warmers, and every single one i have seen where on the thumb side...
