850 oil in airbox.

well.
i guys i was wondering if you guys could tell me how much you guys payed to get the 2012 parts... and if labour was included (@the dealer)
i just might switch to 2012 parts just to be safe, but luckily i have no oil in my airbox...

is it hard to do the switch yourself?
what special tools does it require?
perhaps skill?

i know this has been discussed before, but all the posts are about people either complaining about having it, removing the felt/filter and telling us it works/doesnt
other say they switched to 2012 parts...

has there been a service bulletin/recall on this?

my dealer says i have to disassemble the motor head and change out the labyrinth BUT he is saying its atleast 3 hours of work +parts.
knowing them, they will add some numbers and zeros to the parts and labour...

so really...they will want to charge me about 300-450$... seems like a ripoff if you guys are paying less...

I payed like 150 for all the parts replaced it my self in about 1 hour. you have to take off the back plastics to get to the brake away bar then you pop of the brake a way bar then loosen the 2 bolts for the air box and move it out of the way so you can use i think a 8mm socket to loosen the top 6 bolts after that pop it off and when it off i would check the valves to make sher nothings going wrong like them being bent. pop on the new valve cover and bolt er her down and put it back together. I am 14 and did this by my self it was easy

thats so cool on you being 14 and being able to do this...
can you post the parts list?

anyone else did this if so how much did it cost you?
and still 2 unanswered questions:
- was there a bulletin on this?
and
- anyone have an instruction manual/chart on what to do ?
\kinda like a service manual...
