97 sportsman 500 light problem?

Just bought a 97 sportsman 500. It sat for three years but is in great shape. However. None of the lights work. 4x4, low beam, hig, headlight. Nothing? Has new battery. Can someone give me a few ideas?? Thanks.

If the previous owner ran it without a battery or even a dead one, chances are it overcharged and popped all the bulbs. if not check the circuit breakers, they are in black plastic pouches

I took the two headlights out and they are both blow? Should I go ahead ad check allthe bulbs? Even the small ones that light uptempo neutral and reverse lights?

I removed all bulbs from their housings. And each bulb is blown. i have power there. Could it be my Regulator or could it have been something else? I will put a multimeter on it tonight and check and see. But im not sure what voltage it should be carrying? 8-10?

Make sure you have clean connections, at the battery first, then look at all grounds, frame and engine. If they are clean and tight and the battery is charged up. Hook up the battery and start it up, checking the charging system voltage at the battery, should be 12.5-14.5 rev it to about 3000-3500 rpm. ,if that checks out ok ,you're good to go, if the voltage starts to run away(starts climbing up to 16 volts or more) , shut it off and check the wiring connections at the regulator, which is mounted in a tight spot in front of the radiator . If after cleaning those connections and the voltage still runs away ,then you most likely have a faulty regulator.
