Broken thumb throttle!

Well you can add me to the list! This past weekend was pretty decent out with temps in the forty's so we loaded up the cooler and took the quads up in the mountains by my house. We rode for about 30 miles with a few stops here and there to take in the views. We ended up about 5 miles from my house where we ran into a few neighbors enjoying a few beers sitting by a fire so we decided to stop by for a few. Well it started to get late so we got our stuff together, loaded up the cooler & chairs, got all ready and fired up the 850. Girlfriend hopped on back and I went to give it some gas and SNAP! the thumb throttle broke right off! It was already too dark to try and rig something up so I had to make do with what was left, about a 1/4". After taking the throttle apart, I can't believe its all plastic! Since you can't just buy the broken piece, but have to get the whole switch housing, I'm thinking of just relocating the 4x4 switches and going with a aftermarket throttle(metal). Anybody else go that route?

I used one off a 200 magnum, just the throttle piece, maybe you can get a used one
