Not much ride time on the 27. The Black Diamonds are a tougher tire than the bighorns and they have better traction in the loose stuff, but the Bighorns ride a little smoother. It really depends on where you ride and the conditions, both tires are really good..

congrats on your purchase.i do hope you have better luck than i,ve had.you should be good for about 15 to 20 hours before you spend 3 to 4 weeks downtime, you wont have to worry about tires.the 489 2s are wicked tires,it,s the wheels that will get you.i,ve got 66 hrs on my new one and have had to buy 2 new wheels already.i bought mine oct 28th,and have spent 1600 out of my own pocket to keep it up and it,s in the shop now.it,s been down for 8 weeks out of the last 3 months for a number of issues. As for tires, the 489s have incredible traction and are 6 ply.if you change tires, get an 8 ply tire of your choosing otherwise you aint gaining anything.Good luck man.
