500 HO timing
I think my motor has jumped time the exaust is sucking instead of blowing out, have good fire and getting fuel. how is this checked???

you'll need to remove spark,plug,valve cover and timing inspection bolt (it's on the rope pull cover on top). Using the rope pull,Set engine to top dead center,using the marks on the flywheel, there should be two dots on the cam gear and they should be paralell with the top of the head . Inspact cam lobes for wear and adjust valves(all 4 of them at .006")

What year machine do you have, the older 500's had cam problems.

It's an 03 HO, a friend of mine did his valves a while back and is going to help me with mine this weekend, thanks for the replys.
